Last night I finally located both of the brackets for my chin fairing which came on the bike but has appeared in none of the pictures thus far. My painter painted it for me and it has been sitting here at the shop for weeks. I now remember why I opted not to put it back on until now. It is a bit of a hassle with the location of ev everything or possibly it was just the order that I put it together. Either way it is on now and was already filthy by the time I arrived at work today.

One of the brackets bolts on with regulator bolts behind the regulator against the frame and the other bracket bolts to the top motor mount bolt that is facing forward. I had managed to convince myself that the oil filter could not be changed with this piece on but after reinstalling I avhe realized that I am wrong about that so it stays!

I think it looks great but I need to clean it off before I post a pic of it as I managed to ride through several construction zones that were wet on the way in to work this morning, even at 6am.

Lets start deciding what will be next for my ride. I want to replace the tail light but that will be put off for a little bit as the one that is on their works and it's not like I sit in traffic (I split lanes). It is important but not a priority. I want a new pipe too but after the whole Thunderheader fiasco, I am in no rush as my ghetto propipe works fine.

I was thinking about a Sputhe or True Track but am not sure if I really need one after last weekends trip and the handling that I experienced. I am sure that it will improve the handling of the bike however it already handles so good I am asking will I really need it as the biek was really put through it's paces.

I have a set of black fork boots that I will be picking up sometime this week from a good friend so I will get those on over the weekend. I will eventually get the lowers powder coated and my race tech springs put in with a heavier oil to aid in a stiffer front end with less dive as well.

I need some suggestions here guys. I have hit a wall. I am sure there are plenty of other mods that I know nothing about that should and could be done. Let me know what you think. Obviously wheels seeing as I work for a wheel shop but I'll get there when I get there. I kind of like the simplicity of the 13 spoke black and polished wheels I avhe now.

Let me know.

I had the stock wheels but after 10+ years I was unable to restore them to a nice finish and they were labor intensive to clean so I powdercoated them after having the polished thunderstar wheels on for like a month and having to polish them constantly, I had the thunderstar wheels powdercoated and that is what's on the bike now, my fork lowers were so pitted I had them powder coated awhile back and they look great, you may want to do that when you have them apart. other than that I think you may be close to finished, as if we are ever finished

I gave my stock wheels a nice cleaning finally and used the mothers powerball with some polish. They look pretty good considering I didn't spend hours on them. They have a few blemishes where it looks like brake fluid has been spilled on them. One of these days if I ever have time I'll give them the super thorough cleaning. I did change to the Lyndall gold pads with the new rotors and this has cut down on the brake dust drastically.

I have been thinking about power coating my rims all black as well but have not decided if I want to do that or not. I'm never close to done. Been thinking about a joker Machine a/c in black possibly too. I like the smaller 4" air filter and the fact it does not stick out as far as most of the others. When I put my feet on the highway pegs the right leg is flush against the air filter cover right now. Here is the JM air cleaner. Let me know what you think?

Not yet. I am yet to change the oil either. One of these days. I figure I'll wait until I pull the lowers off for powder coating.

The look of the stock wheels has really grown on me. I also like chrome spokes a lot. If I ever changed them it would be solely to run different sizes. I would much rather have a 17" rear with a 170 and a 18" on the front. I've noticed that a couple of the new Sportsters run mid glide trees, 39mm tubes and a 18" front wheel. I forget the width of the tire, but its either a 120 or a 130. I would love to use mid glide trees and that wheel and tire, but unfortunately its only a single disc wheel. My only dislike of the DX models is the narrow glide trees with the longer forks. It looks too spindly.

Those bags were offered to me before he put them on ebay as the guy is a customer of mine. I can get them for way less than $750.

As far as the stock size rims I'm good with these sizes as the bike handles so well. It would be nice to have an 18x4.25 on the rear but not a big deal at all to me. I still keep going back on forth on whether or not I should even bother to powder coat the stock wheels as they are already half black.
