Checked the oil level cold with bike on kick stand, showed low. Got it hot, checked with bike level and the oil was at the cold mark. How low is it?
I found a good Indy thru people at work, I can get a complete tire to tire service for $100 less than the dealer. I want it checked out good by a pro since I just bought the bike. But I want to take it for a good ride tomorrow.

You have to check the level on the side stand, cold or hot. Warm it again and check on the stand then adjust while hot if needed, middle of the range, not to the top.

as long as your in range of the dipstick your supposed to be safe to ride.by what your describing sounds like 1/3 to 1/2 a quart low.
Just do what superfast said.
It's 3/4 inch below the cold mark while on the stand cold. I'm pretty sure it's dino from the burn test I did ( rags with syn don't burn easy) but I don't want to add unless I have to because mixing is bad. Is it good enough to run or not?
I know that hydrocarbon based oils and synthetic oils don't mix well, if you get enough of a mix it causes the molecules between the two to bond together, resulting in a sludge that can slow movement through the journals on the bearings and other passes the oil makes. I know my engines, but not air-cooled. My first Harley, just don't want to F it up. Maybe the low volume of oil has something to do with it? I know if you mix 5 quarts syn and dino it gets nasty real quick.
Now if only my computer would cooperate and let me upload a photo of my new bike. I sure do think she's purrty. Lol, I know, that's a different thread. Thanks guys.

Who ever told you that stuff was on something. How do you think they make "Synthetic Blends"? What do you think people do when they change from "Dyno, to Syn" or visa versa, tear down their engine to get the oil out so it doesn't Mix?
