98 Heritage SPringer: Front Fender lightbulb replacement?
Hi All,
I bought a 98 Heritage Springer and am cleaning it up and saw the front fender light didn't turn on. The lightbulb is shattered and, as it looks non-standard (possibly square base?), I don't want to jack it up by removing it the wrong way. Does it pull out, twist out, or what? Extra bonus if anyone knows the replacement bulb part number....
Thank you!!
Patrick
Its a standard #194 bulb you can buy at any auto parts store.
It should pull straight out with almost no resistance unless theres some corrosion in there. You might try some WD-40 to loosen any corrosion then use some tiny needle nose pliers to reach down the center of the bulb base between the contacts.

Thanks UncleG! I ended up using a jewelers screwdriver to break up the light bulb base to get it out (small pieces, what a PITA). Went out, bought a #194 bulb and, we have light!
Dang, now you tell me Do you have the part number you used (for future reference)? I'll replace mine with LED the next time. And/or, it will provide a reference for the next person looking to fix their springer front fender light.
Not off hand. Just look for a LED replacement for that #194 bulb in whatever color the lens is. Amber for the front, red for the back, red for the tour pack sides, if you had one. I think I bought the last set of red ones on amazon. Probably got the amber from superbrightleds when I ordered some others years ago. I'm sure amazon sells those too.
