Excellent observation. It is the lower hose for the vapor line running off the gas tank. Book says it is vented to the atmosphere. I will definitely relocate it to a differerent position.
............. How do I know/how can I tell if I have the upgraded spacer and pully?

YD's probably busy at work.
You already have the later "updated" pulley, spacer, trans main seal and nut/lock. They were redesigned and factory installed after mid - '94 so just order parts for your year model. Unless I missed something, you don't need to remove the gear set for what you'll be replacing, only the inner primary and front pulley.
I forgot one special tool - inner primary bearing race remover/installer - unless you decide to leave it. I always replace them for cheap insurance against a leak and you'll have to pull it if you replace the trans input shaft seal. Never take one off and re-use it.
"How do I know/how can I tell if I have the upgraded spacer and pully?"
You can tell by the part numbers on the back of the pulley where you can't see them until removed
Maybe somebody else has an idea on "how to tell". Pretty sure you said the bike is a 94 so you can't be sure, however my bike was made in March of 1994 and it had the larger upgraded pulley from the factory. Definitely 1995 on up had the better pulley.
How do I know/how can I tell if I have the upgraded spacer and pully?
The latest configuration spacer and sprockets came out in production mid `94, but since the bike is 26 years old who knows what has been done since then, best to check.
Easiest way is to measure the spacer. The old spacer (33334-84)
Length .850"
Outside Diameter 2.065"
New Spacer (33344-94)
Length .600"
Outside Diameter 2.254"
As you can see, the factory changed the spacer to have a larger outside diameter, to help prevent wobbling of the sprocket.
They also shortened the spacer, to allow the sprocket to be thicker in the spline area (about .250" thicker).
