OK, I just ran a wire from coil positve to battery positive and cranked her. Spark plugs are sparking twice as much. Bad coil?

Didn't someone say you could switch that coil to a dual fire?

There's a switch on the module that can be turned to recognize a single or dual fire coil.

Are you thinking I can just use 1 "side" of the coil?

I'm thinking if you can switch to a dual fire, you would solve half the timing debate! But I know nothing, so need to hear from an expert!

I think it might be the coil. she was having slow starting probs before the rebuild.

When I did the jumper wire trick, the plugs fired twice as much and very brightly.

Time to take it to an experienced tech, you tried. Just pay the 3 hours of labor cost and a shop, before you break something else.

It sounds like you just turned it into a dual fire. Firing twice as much just means both plugs fire at the same time instead of alternating. But with your lifters and such as they are, I don't want to be a part of your valves banging into your pistons! I don't know if you can just switch to dual fire with your setup.
