Hmmmm... I didn't read this whole thread but a lot of Harleys have the shake at 2000rpm's where you are saying yours is. As far as rpm's at whatever speed, just don't lug the motor. If I lug mine, it skakes like a ***** sitting in church! On the highway, at 80 mph, my rpm's are damn near 4K. Rides smooth as hell!!!
. Sounds high did you forget to shift into 5th? I'm around 3k at 80.
Need some help please. I pulled it apart and want to check the hub bearing. I took a short video showing the movement if I slide it all the way on there's less play but still can see some and halfway off it's a good wobble. I read both that there is always play and that there shouldn't be so I'm not sure. I can't spin the center I'll have to completely disassemble the clutch plates to rotate it I guess to see if it's smooth. I think it's fine but want to ask the experts. I don't want to spend a cent more than I have to at this point
While I am NO expert Kp, there has to be minimal play on there I would think. When I put my open belt drive on and took my old hub off, it was just like that!
Are you sure you aint just being overly cautious? When I got my first Harley, I almost sold it the next day. I was scared to death of the vibrations, then Got use to it that's just how they are. AND to this day,I have NEVER been past 90 on any of my Harleys, just doesn't feel right to me.
I think the hub bearing is fine. The 2k shake I get isn't normal. It's miserable, it shakes everywhere else too. I just wanted to double check the hub since it was apart waiting on the new bdl compensator
