I've got the PV2 on the handlebars and can't get a gear indicator reading. I know the signal is avaliable cause the gear is displayed on the speedo. Could this not be programed on the PV2 yet? Does anybody else have the gaer displayed on the Touring or Softail?
I have a PV that I got from FM and a MAP from Jamie at FM and the bike runs real well (better gas milage than stock, better power and almost no decel popping) but after reading most of this thread a few times over I feel like Im missing the potential of the PV by not trying to do some data logging runs and fine tune my MAP.
In your guys experience in a general sense is it worth my time ? I guess its kind of a subjective question since I like the way my bike runs but am I correct that as long as I stay within the parameters that have been recommended by FM and others it would not be possible to damage my engine.
Im a novice to EFI tuning and Im a lot tentative about it.

I would like to also upgrade from the PCV (without AT) to the PV, but...
as iclick mentions in his awesome original post: 'Okay, so why would I change tuners when my bike was running fine and I had developed a good working knowledge of my previous tuner? I had been running the PCV with Auto-Tune for two years and can honestly say that I couldn't ask the bike to run any better, but I was drawn to the Power Vision (PV) for several reasons:(see OP)
I'm also a novice to EFI tuning and after reading this entire thread you'd think I'd learn something but am now more intimidated by the fact that I just may furk something up 'FUBAR' even though I'm somewhat computer savvy and would have the stock tune saved. If I decide to go with the PV?
At least with the PCV the great tech staff over at Dynojet can tap into my laptop while connected to the bike for remote support to see what's really goin' on? or to fix what I might F'up?
a ton of good info here to the point it's almost overwhelming? but, I'm a quick learner

Power Vision is very straight forward to work with, we offer the same level of product support as with the PC-V, and Fuel Moto has the ability to link to your computer remotely with either product. In fact, in many cases we can help to a higher degree with Power Vision as it has the ability to record data channels, read ECM data, retrieve-clear trouble codes, etc... all of which which help greatly. We are always here to answer any questions and offer full product and tuning support
Novice question, I have a 2010 crossbones. According to what i have read, the bike comes with a 02 sensor that is supposed to adjust the air/ fuel mixture. I've been looking at adding Vance and Hines big shot longs and going with their Vo2 big sucker air filter system. Would the original ecm map with the o2 sensor handle this or do i need to get a pcv with auto tune or go with the Pv? what happens to the O2 sensor as well, is it disconnected. I'm trying to understand this. Thanks

I own bikes that have have run on just about every combination of PC5 with and without wideband and PowerVision with and without widebands. With your combination, the PowerVision is a plenty powerful yet quite easy to use.
With the big twin motors, it is best to leave the o2s working. It has been my experiance that every bike needs tuning, even the stock ones.

I used the smoothing function on my latest tune and noticed that if I highlight a range of cells in a particular rpm column, and click smooth in the drop down, it takes about 4 or 5 clicks before the cells no longer change. Should you just smooth the range once, or until the values no longer change?
Great write up. I was sold on the idea of it not being a piggy back system and introducing more points of failure. Dynojet makes great products. This is the best yet.
