Here's the VE front from the tune I'm now running without smoothing. I didn't flash the smoothed tune yet, as I don't think it will make any difference in the way the bike runs. I'm open to further discussion on that, however.

I'm also a novice to EFI tuning and after reading this entire thread you'd think I'd learn something but am now more intimidated by the fact that I just may furk something up 'FUBAR' even though I'm somewhat computer savvy and would have the stock tune saved. If I decide to go with the PV? At least with the PCV the great tech staff over at Dynojet can tap into my laptop while connected to the bike for remote support to see what's really goin' on? or to fix what I might F'up?

a ton of good info here to the point it's almost overwhelming? but, I'm a quick learner
It'd be hard to screw-up if you first save your original tune. If you buy from Fuel Moto you'll get a good tune installed, which is your starting-point if you want to further tweak your tune. Save it to a filename on your computer and the PV for safekeeping, so if you flash a tune that causes unexpected (i.e. lousy) performance or worse you can always flash it back to the original tune. I'm a backup nut and actually save my tunes on my netbook, which interacts with the PV, and at least three separate hard drives on my desktop computer. I do that for all my important files.

There may be no practical reason for most riders to move from the PCV to the PV, but the PV does offer many more ways to tweak the tune by allowing access to the tables within the ECM. The PCV can't do that, but most riders wouldn't want to anyway. It's all in what you want to accomplish.

I've been trying to get the DJ team to work on the gauge display, which IMO needs work. My biggest complaint is that we have about 15 gauges, many of which are analog designs that I can't see in daylight, and since 99% of my riding is in the daytime that makes them useless to me. I'm currently using only the 4- and 6-gauge panels, both black on white and vice versa, but that's all. To move from one to the other I must scroll through a multiple gauge panels, which seems needless.

They've asked me to get ideas here on how to improve the display feature. I think a separate selection screen similar to the Trip Center would be the way to go. Have each gauge with a box that can be checked or unchecked, and only those checked will be displayed when scrolled.

Now, let's hear more suggestions! I'm getting burned-out on scrolling.

Glad I found this thread. Love the Power Vision and their support. I had alittle popping on decel on my bike so I emailed Dyno jet on a Sunday morning and they actually got back to me with some suggestions and then asked me to send my tune to them and they made the changes for me and I got to do a compare to see what they changed. This all happened on a Sunday morning.

I have ZERO popping on decel and my bike runs amazing.

Mention to them that the display picking that they use on the PC5 LCD display works fairly well. You see a line representation of like 6 display layouts on each screen.

I use the six gauge display also and have no problem seeing black on white or vise versa in daylight. I agree that the scrolling is a pain...maybe having a favorites button where you could store your favorite displays could be done.

I totally agree with you on this. I would like to have more of the 4 and 6 gauge panels available and ditch the analog types altogether.

The bar graph stuff that they have on the LCD / PC5 works fairly good.

Doesn't look like anybody wants to explain smoothing, and when to use it?
Its not in the Help section either.

Your idea of limiting the amount of gauges with a checkbox is a great idea, seems like I too only use a couple. I do not have much of a problem seeing them day or nite but maybe a screen brightness option might make it better. How about a single button to prep the tune for data logging?
