So just how many knock events do you find acceptable? I had thought I should tune till I'm not seeing any but after the comments on false knocks I'm wondering how I tell a valid need to retard from false detections..... I had heard audible pings at load and higher rpm which clearly were an issue but now I just see knock events registering but not audible... Thoughts?
I would just keep an eye on those areas that are showing knock events. Keep your original tune before making timing adjustments and compare to that over time. If you see that one area is retarding with each passing log run and shows more than a few degrees of adjustment from the original tune I would start to suspect a false knock. In my case the logs would show -2° at first, tapering to zero in a few seconds, usually 1-2 times every 15-20 min. of run time, front cylinder only. No matter how much advance was taken out, it would still show knock events, and PV Tune would continue to pull small amounts out over time. Had I let it go unchecked there would've been a performance penalty in time.
Those of you running the Beta firmware, can you please take a look at your value "limits & Switches > Closed Loop" is it 0 or 1? Mine is 0 and I did not change it from when the tune was "upgraded" during the change to the beta firmware. So I'm trying to figure out if that was the default value....turning off closed loop by default does not see to be right...

I put on fuel moto's headers and air cleaner, then using the PV, flashed the ecm with their map. Bike runs good but has some little issues. I can't seem to get the computer program to run correctly on my pc. I get to the #6 of dynojets instructions on "configure pv log tuner software, it says to open the log tuner software (shouldn't it already be open at this point?) and to go to "options" which I don't see anywhere. I sent an email yesterday to Fuelmoto, but no relpy, and can't call during their business hours. So I'm frustrated. Am I missing something? Is PV log tuner software seperate from the power vision?

You know the log tuner software is different than the WinPV software right?
Thanks much guys. Any quirks to watch out for in either case of Windows installation?
Beasley, which version of Windows are you using?
Windows 7 Pro. No issues, just plug it in and set the device to be used by the VM not the Mac. Windows will pick it up and install the drivers. Install the software first is always a good practice in case it needs to put drivers into the cache.
I am thinking of a version 2.0 or at least update it but wanted feedback to make it the best I can. I will probably add information about the new features DJ is putting in the Beta versions, if they get the bugs worked out. Thanks for the input.
More pictures to go along with each step would be great. Some of us more dense types might not know exactly where you are making the changes you mention.

And what if I was getting as high as -8? I was at the 3900-4100 rpm range. I let log tuner tune it out, and havent done another run. Should I have not tuned it out? I never felt or heard it, just seen it, log after log.

When you'll have done with V2.0 what about having a sticky on 1st page
Anyhow, if we can help...
