Looks like I'm gonna need some hands on training. When I try to open the folder where the logs are it says no item match your search.

My laptop is out in the garage and it is storming here so I won't be much more help. I would make sure you saved the log or logs to a folder you could name data logs or whatever you like to make it easier.

I am experienced with the PV, I've had it pretty much since the start of this thread. It was locked to my 2010 Fatboy and I used it a lot on that bike. When I traded it in a few weeks ago, I kept the tuner and paid the $199 to unlock it. I married it to the new bike and went through all of the updates. It's all working fine except the knock events.

I have both front and rear spark knock channels set up for recording. Even looking at the .csv in Excel, all zero's under those two columns.

There has to be something very simple that I am overlooking, I never had any problems on the fatboy.

Any suggestions?
Anyone have any input on this problem?

I had a similar problem, cruising at 2700 rpm, I added fuel in and around the cells that I was running in and it eliminated the pinging. You have a range in lambda for say 14.6 afr, could go low end 0.995 to high of 0.999. I also adjusted the cells around the pinging because as your running you draw from the cells around depending on the kpa your running in.

One other thing to consider is ethanol fuel... a lot of fuel they are selling is 10% ethanol which you would want to be slightly richer. here is a chart to look at.... http://ls1tuningguide.com/files/free...conversion.pdf

Default Getting Started

Hey guys, I'm new to the Power Vision thing and trying to get started. I'm hoping some of you can kick-start me in the right direction.

2007 ElectraGlide Classic, with 40K miles. FuelMoto Package purchased in 07 that is a K&N filter and Supertrapp SE pipes and PCIII (originally).

This config has been running perfect and I would have just stayed with this, until my bike mysteriously blew an ECM fuse and when the fuse was replaced my PCIII would only fire a single cylinder. Long story made shorter after working with Jaime at FM, the answer was a PV.

So now I have installed my PV with the FM map Jaime pre loaded. It is labeled "Strategy 159". So I installed the Map and do not have the PV installed on the handlebars, and am really not there with that, unless I need to. I did replug in the stock sensors as instructed by Jaime. He seems to feel that is the best way to run these bikes, at least at my mod level with typical recreational riding.

After my initial first rides it runs very strong, maybe stronger that it did with the PCIII. But, it runs hotter. I have a McCowen Oil Temp gage and it is running at least 20'F hotter than previously with the PCIII, but it feels even hotter. It used to run approximately 200'F almost always and now it runs at least 215~220F, and hotter when I get on it and ride aggressively, but it doesn't go above 230'F. I should mention I am in New England with a fairly warm 80'F day on this and also running a Jagg Deluxe 5 row oil cooler. That's my only mods to this bike.

Power = excellent. But I'd like to get the temps down a bit.

I've been reading the help file, as this seems to be the only documentation for this device? I must say it leaves a LOT to be desired. For instance it doesn't state anyplace upfront when you need to have the PV connected to the bike and when not to do various different commands. It says you need to create a tune file, but doesn't say if you need to name it a specific file name or put it in a specific place. Doesn't really show you how at all.

So is there a Getting Started with Power Vision document, FAQ or anything that could help a beginner like me find my way around this thing? Also, is there a more generic white paper of document to explain a bit about how all these tables and settings work and interact together? Hopefully with a translation index of what all of these acronyms stand for? Like VE KPA etc?

I tried once to import my PCIII map to the power vision, because that ran pissa, but I guess that wasn't for "closed loop" so I'm not sure I can use it anyway and it was before I discovered I needed to set myself up as a Pro user and create some of these files etc.. so I'm not sure even how to do that. There are menus the documentation refers to that I guess you would only see on the Power Vision when connected to the bike. The documentation is never clear when it is referring to the menus on the PV as opposed to WinPV.

Any help guys, just looking to get started.

Steve
