Been trying out the trip center . I fueled up yesterday and it was in 1/10th of a gallon on fuel usage without any corrections. That pretty close .. Gotta 100 mile round trip today and should be able to get a interstate mileage report . averaging overall about 39 right now , which is great coming from 32 mpg before the powervision. Well after the 100 mile roundtrip run , interstate at 68 to 70 mph , I averages 42.2 mpg. That speed kept my rpms around 2500 . last time I made that trip without the power vision and this current map , I ran it at 80 mph and 3000 rpms. I got 32 mpg. Yep , I'm satisfied with that

I am new to PV, got a quick question.
I got my PV a few days ago, have been playing with it, cool stuffs! Fuelmoto base map works fine but I like to take advantage of the auto tune basic. Jamie told me to do 3x 25 mins ride and apply the tune, what does it mean? Do I apply auto tune data log to previous tune, then use the same tune and do 2rd and 3rd auto tune data logging? I am confused. Thanks! Alex

correct.
you start with the Fm tune file
make a 25 min run datalogging
use that datalog to combine with your FM tune file to create a 2nd tune file
make a 25 min run datalogging
use that datalog to combine with your 2nd tune file to create a 3rd tune file
repeat process until you have less than 5% change in VEs front and rear

Where is this documented to explain just exactly how to "combine" the tune files, or is it done cell by cell manually in the tables? Also, is there then a way to drop the numerical AFR number down into the richer 12.X range from the leaner 13 range that the basic tune comes with?

in the datalog manual. if you don't have the datalog software, go grab it from DJ website. It's done automatically by opening the initial tune, open the log, calc tune file, look at the deltas to see what changed and by how much. when you're happy hit the apply tune button to generate the next tune you will datalog with. I'm not 100% oldhippie because with autotune basic it's using the NB o2 sensors. Maybe someone with more tuning experience can chime in on that question for you.

Thanks! I'm realizing that the DJ site has much more than it even had last fall for documentation, helpful videos etc. I bought my PV after a PCIII failure near the end of last season then immediately had to stop riding due to chronic shoulder dislocation. But I was able to get the basic tune from FM installed. The bike ran well but hotter than my previous PCIII tune so ideally I'd like to get at least back to that.

This thread has become so massive.. I know all the good info is here, but search doesn't well enough to efficiently find all of the great info in this thread.

So am I correct in finally realizing that my PowerVision with "just" Auto-tune basic is NOT going to allow me to decrease AFR target to the richer 12.X range, and what I need to be able to do that is the Auto-tune Pro module/sensors etc?

If that is the case, what sensor size do I have with the HD-Stock 02 sensors on my 07 FLHTC? Will one of the kits be a simple pull out the stockers, put in the new wideband ones? (never assuming anything again when it comes to this stuff)

Thanks for any insight.

I do not believe there are any "AFR Limitations" related to the PV's BASIC autotune capability. The PV doesn't really care what your running AFR settings are since it's going to change the entire map to closed loop for data collection with the stock O2 sensors. Once the data is collected with the NB sensors, the PV modifies your VE tables and reinserts whatever original AFR values you had.

That being said, why would you need AFRs richer than 12.0?

If you're seeking a very precise autotuning result, then you would benefit from going with WB O2 sensors and utilizing the PRO settings in the PV for Autotuning. In the PRO mode, the PV would not modify the spark tables or the AFRs and simply tune the VE tables using the exact spark and AFR values in the map you were autotuning.
