You need to data log the bike for about 45 min driving around town, not just the highway. A little bit of everything.

Log the following things in CSV format. CSV logging is a choice on the logging screen.

MAP
Front AFF
Front CLI
RPM
Rear AFF
Rear CLI
TP
ET
Set Lambda
Spark Knock F
Spark Knock R
Acel Enr
Decl Enl
VE Front
VE Rear
VE New Front
VE New Rear
IAT
Front O2 V
Rear O2 V
Advance F
Advance R
INJ PW F
INJ PW R
VSS

Post that log and we can tell you the next step.

Andy

what are average swings you can expect between ve front and back?

does anyone have an opinion about what the maximum difference should be in the same areas?

There are way better ways to compare Injector balance Front to Rear. All you need is a big data log. Essentially you look at fuel flow balance.

I look at the MAPxRPM vs Injector Duty Cycle.

Here is what screwed up looks like

And here is what a very tightly tuned motor looks like

I am doing that with a program that only costs like $40.

The rest is easy. Log data, look at data. If all looks good, go ride.

this would be where i follow your signature. my other computer died violently so i have nothing from it..

having said that, have you ever seen swings of 20 (not percent) between front and back for the same ranges?

i was okay with log tuner and excel and even started seeing patterns with just logged data.... through excel.

before i learn a new program i am wiling to make some manual adjustments based on a few things for the two weeks riding i have left..... after that i have many months to modify and learn new stuff :-)

I agree with Andy as VEs from front to rear will vary widely and wildly. Look at them as 2 completely separate and independent air pumps and they'll breath the way they want to breath; independently.

If I see over 5% I start suspecting small issues like exhaust or possibly a vacuum leak. If see 20% then I start checking for crossed O2's then run a compression test and also check and clean all grounds and connectors on engine. Some possible culprits can be bad TMap, bad O2, exhaust gasket crushed into the port, Engine Temp sensor, Crank sensor possibly, bad plugs. It usually won't jump out at you. The scatter plot just tells you you have a problem or not. You have to look at sensors which the same program will do. I just use excel as that is what I have. No doubt the Program will work for you if not real familiar with excel. Much cheaper than excel too. What is normal was the question and definitely anything over 10 is too much for me. Keep in mind that a modified engine is going to drive the O2's nuts with reversion from the cams and exhaust system back pressure will contribute. You can turn off the O2's, Adaptive learning, and spark knock controls and reload the map and reset adaptive and see how bike performs and get it running that way and run log and see what the issue is without them masking it. You can always turn all that back on when you get it running. They are mostly fine tuning controls, which are very good for that. If the bike is running well with 20% difference between front to rear is when it gets real interesting. I have seen 40%, but bike was running like crap. The front cam was out 1 tooth advanced if I remember right. Bike was very sick also.
