For my 65 FLH build and my 49 EL build I used replica cloth wiring (because they are close to a stock refurbish). Since this build is a total custom it will be the plastic coated wiring sheathed in black heat shrink

A year ago hellonewman asked me for some seat pics. Thought I'd post up some before-n-after pics. My seat guy is a stickler for details. Takes a lot of pride in his work and I will state he is truly a craftsman. What's the quote????? The devil's in the details??????

Before...

...After

He's definitely not cheap, but quality never is, especially "Made in America".

I do not know if it could be used as a push, they do make an internal twist clutch version so anything is possible. I have called and talked to Russel direct about a couple of parts over the years, straight forward gentlemen easy to talk to, when you get to it give him a call. I sent him my headlight I bought from him several years later because I didn't like the lower mount. He re-machined and welded on a tab per my specifications and sent it back, only for a couple of bucks.

The Panhead I have been building in my head will have 12" apes. My plan was to get a set of swap meet bars setup for spirals on both sides, cut off the ends and weld them to a new set of Flanders apes. Then from there use stock spirals with longer cables. In my head it is a great plan and works great.

K...I'd like to keep the use of the single point distributor (and do the e-beyond electronic ignition). That said what was on there before to keep the manual advance from moving was as ugly as $hit

Someone has to have a better alternative so that the distributor doesn't move off full advance when going down the road.

They make a centrifugal distributor that looks like the original

it comes with points so e 2000 add on works the points it comes with is the 1970 shovel up points

it also comes with a small box ignition that is programmable but have never used that one

I'm running the e-beyond (Pertronix based) ignition and love it.

Hey, my timing cover was worse than yours by a long shot, serious gouges in the fins, deep scratches on the smooth front section from the worn-out brake lever bushing... I spent a Saturday with sandpaper, working up from 100 grit to around 2,000, then a piece of Sunday morning on the buffer, and voila. It's well worth it IMHO, especially on a chopper.

Your bike's coming along!

So.......going to go with the E-beyond ignition system.

1. Anyone have a suggestion on the best aftermarket 66-69 distributor?

2. With the e-beyond electronic ignition system (along with the CycleElectric voltage regulator), do I still need to "flash" the generator to ensure correct polarity? Sure as hell don't want to do something stupid and ruin the e-beyond system.
