The Deuce rear fender is actually really nice. Out of the factory it looks a little akward like it's too big. Once you slam it down on top of tire an fill up all that space left from the factory it looks really tight.

It's hard to say why HD stops producing certain models for sure. They are currently not making springers anymore and no one can say those don't sell.

I will agree, it would be a pain in the *** with the issue on parts, so maybe that led to slower sales. Less customization.

But you guys need to look at the some slammed Deuce rears. That fender cuts off half the rim when slammed and looks tight as hell.

Rear fender looks tight to me! I never owned one, but don't really judge any Harley's on a factory model. To me it's about what it can become. I might have ran a solo seat on this one as oppose to that one, but looks good still.

Because it had an ugly tank and rear fender.

I can't believe they decided to use that same tank on the Rocker. Probably part of the reason the Rocker is also now discontinued. You really have to love the way those parts look. Otherwise, I think it lacks the mass appeal of the other motorcycles with the more "traditional" Harley look.

Whats wrong with the rear fender? You want to talk about an ugly rear fender that don't belong on a Harley, lets talk about the NightTrain. That bobtail thing was copied from the Kawasaki's of the 70's. I had a NightTrain and hated that fender. Now thats ugly. Whats funny is some are changing it for an uglier long, road dragging fender.

Why did Harley stop making the Deuce?
Marketing reasons I would guess, more than anything else.

It's not like Harley is ignorant about marketing.
Clothing styles change, led by fashion designers, lest people don't buy new clothes until the old ones wear out. Unacceptable.

What's up with the recent change from a 96 to a 103? They could have done it from the get-go. But then there wouldn't be people who wanted to "upgrade".

Okay, I'll chime in to this very old thread. lol

While it can be difficult to find parts for the Deuce, it can be done. Just gotta be more inquisitive. I use the stock seat for my daily riding and a Sundowner for when my wife rides with me. I recently purchased a used Gunfighter and Lady with one backrest. I don't like the way it looks, but it certainly is comfortable.
I'm not overly thrilled with the rear fender, but it's part of what makes the Deuce so unique. Who knows, maybe one day I'll lower it. I'm just not sure that I want the harsher ride

I've received many compliments on my Deuce so I guess there are others who like the model.

Why name it after a huge turd?

I saw a post title "I dropped the Deuce". I just assumed it was one of Dickey's epic bathroom stories.

I always figured they quit making them because they just didn't want everyone to have one..... just the cool kids. Of course I am a bit biased.
