I knew some had issues with clearance but thought most were due to a small install issue or defect with the main dash part? Just wondering because I had not experienced any issues but I guess some of the bikes aren't as uniform in fit as they should be. Don't want to keep telling people wrong or be misinformed myself so just wondering. Thanks.

Cams and Warranty ??

I'm seriously considering having the Andrews 57H cam set installed in my 2014 BO which has just over 5000 mi on it and has been in my possession for just over 1 year. I am assured this will adversely affect my warranty.

My question for the experienced guys here is: Am I being over reckless in this decision ? Should I definitely wait another year until my warranty has expired before replacing cams, or is 5000 trouble free miles without issue reasonably sufficient to judge the motor is likely to remain sound and trouble free for another year (ie warranty expiry) ?

I quite understand this is a judgement call that could backfire regardless of anyone's advice or opinion but at this point I'm just trying to get a feel for the degree of risk I'm taking.

Thanx

Talked to my dealer just four days ago about a cam upgrade. They told me that if I don't wanna lose warranty I should go with SE cams and not aftermarket parts.

Depends on your dealer in some cases. I bought 3 years more warranty to go with the 2. After talking with my dealer, they will cover all warranty work if needed if they do the install. In fact they was pushing me towards Woods 777 cams and a Dyno tune.

I will say that with just a Stage 1 & Tune that my bike runs really well and for me I'm just not sure about the cost for more HP that I will not use 90 percent of the time, I mean is it really worth it to me. I don't hotrod my bike.

My dealer says the same.

Thing is, it doesn't appear that an upgrade to the SE 255 makes much sense for the later 103's as their cam is virtually the same as a 255 anyway. The Andrews 57H is significantly different which is why I'm interested in it. I'm not up for spending $$ for little apparent change just to protect the warranty. I'm better off leaving things as they are.

In the States they have a law, (I believe), which places an onus on the OEM to show a problem is in fact related to the modification in order to deny a warranty claim related to it. That would, of course, not apply in Canada.

Really? Later 103ci engines have cam similar to SE-255? Always thought CVOs have 255 as stock cams. As far as I understood from diagrams 255 should be much more lower range TQ than stock cam. Since I'm planning to install SE-255 or 204 and I've just started my homeworks on cam I'd really appreciate further info.

Interesting...that doesn't quite go along with what Firefighter0763 is stating in his thread:

I was browsing some SE parts in HD Bangkok a couple of years back and ALL the boxes had a Warranty Void if Fitted sticker on them and it was a HD USA sticker.

Default breakout fender contact under pilion seat

Has anyone removed contact from under pillion seat and then refitted seat for use without any damage to fender with pillion on back

S&S MR103 cam put good numbers on cdonis Breakout, glad you shared the info on those cams. A lot of folks been wondering about them. I wonder how the HP103's would dyno. You really got me thinking cams again cdonis, I've seen others spend and do a lot more for little or no more than what you got in return.
