So how you like that 120/70/21 front tire? I think it looks better than the 130 and it sure as heck handles better.

I like it, all.... especially the gaitors and you are correct about the forks. Nice job!!

Performance Machine "Paramount", 3.5" x 21" black with contrast machine cut. Yeh I love it. Now I just gotta pony up for the matching rear wheel (stock Gasser is still on back).

StoneCliff- thanks for the feedback brother

Skipper- You still running stock front springs and tires? I swear you will **** a golden twinkie after making these changes and going for a ride. It is really that much better. Believe it or not, the tires do make a huge difference along with the new dampers / springs.

RT Springs: $129
Ricors: $179
5w oil: $40 (4 bottles)
Couple hours DIY to install.

Night Dragon Tires F/R: $330
Mount / balance tires (assuming U removed the wheels): $50 (HD dealer charged me $25 per wheel, not bad).

EBC HH+ front brake pads, $27

Definitely worth every penny to do this. Again kicking myself for not doing it sooner. And the real pisser is, I'm OUT OF TOWN this weekend and can't ride it. figures, right?

Default Locating accesory wire to tap into

Hey guys, I figured I'd post this here seeing as everyone here is pretty familiar with working on their breakout. I bought the Cycle sound speakers and wired them up yesterday. I'm having trouble locating an accessory wire that I can Splice into with the provided clamp. Maybe someone could post a picture of a suitable accessory wire.

Thanks in advance

If by "clamp" you mean what many people call a "vampire" or "suitcase" connector, a connector that simply encases the factory wire, cuts through its insulation, and "snaps" closed, don't do it.

Such a connector is not waterproof, and is prone to causing a circuit failure, as the vibration on a Harley causes the "knife" in the connector (which cuts through the wire insulation) to eventually cut through the conductor wire.

You'll find many online references to this problem and advice not to use those connectors.

Powder paint is applied literally as a find dry powder to electrostatically charged parts, and then baked at at minimum 400+ degrees to melt it and complete the chemical reaction that hardens it. Powder paint is incredibly more durable than normal paint. It is so resistant for example to chemical attack that it is used to coat lawnmower decks (top and inside) because the grass clippings won't successfully attack it.

I imagine it is pretty resistant to heat damage.

You might ask a local powder coater. Such facilities exist in most cities, as powder coating is used extensively now for both durability and environmental reasons.

My shields are POWDER COATED as said above.
The reason the stock pipes hold up is because it is only at the back of the pipes on the muffler. That portion of my pipes is fine as well. It is near the heads where it does not hold up.

Welcome to the forum- post some pics of your ride here.

That's odd.. my Breakout came with speakers already installed, they are the two large pipes on the right side of bike.

On the right side of the frame up by the neck under the front of the tank. There is a 6 pin connector that is plugged into nothing. Grab one of the blue wires from this connector. It should be on when the bike is on. Do not use this wire to power the speakers directly, just to a relay as the remote.
