valve cover opening

Default valve cover opening
recently removed gas tank and found opening in middle of valve covers. can I leave open without concern of getting #@*& inside? thanks for any help. Frank

That's where the second spark plug goes if you dual plug your heads .

I keep all my important paperwork in the rear one. Like title, insurance, registration, ect. The forward one I use as a garbage receptacle.

i use mine for a little extra gasoline storage. i can get like at least 15 extra miles from it.
