Hi my Father have a 2007 ultra classic and we are about to change the seat to something more good looking. He think´s the newer streetglide seats looks good. I´ve read the 2008 up bikes are different but wondering how much to customize a newer seat to make it fit his bike.

It would take a whole lot of work to make a 08 or newer seat work on a 07 bike. The 08's were the first year of the 6 gallon gas tank so the back of the gas tank is a little bit longer which makes the front of the newer seats shorter and the rear fender is shaped slightly different also so getting the seat to fit properly would require the back of the seat to be shaped different to fit the 07 fender. You would also need to put a tongue on the front of the seat to hold the front own. It can be done but it would be a lot of work to get it there. Best thing to do is get a seat and lay it in the seat area and see what you have. If it were me I would get a 07 Street Glide seat or Badlander seat, you would need to change the dash on the gas tank but going this route has everything fitting properly in all of the area where the newer seat would need tweaking.
Another option, send the original seat out and have it shaved to match the street glide seat. MCC is one company that does great work. Or the company of your choice.
Ok thank´s alot for your help!
I will try to find him a -07 or older seat.
Shipping to Sweden is a little pricey though.

André, Hi from the UK. I have imported a lot of stuff, mostly through US Ebay. It is true it is a costly business, with high shipping costs plus import taxes, however I still find the savings are very well worthwhile, at least most of the time. Do start by checking the price of a new seat with your favourite dealer, before looking across the Atlantic, also look at your local Ebay for seats that will fit. You should see other brands and sellers who will ship to you, showing the costs.
