Just ordered 12” La Chopper twin peak bars for my 06 street glide. Planning to run all wiring internal through these bars for a cleaner look. I read a few reviews on the site I purchased them off stating the extended wiring kit wasn’t quite long enough so I didn’t pull the trigger on it. Any suggestions on a nice kit to purchase? Attempting to avoid ordering, installing, and having to send back anything. Any help is appreciated, thank you.
What I found on my 12" handlebar project was that I didn't need to extend the wiring...I simply cut loose and rerouted the chassis side of the wires, and they reached the cannon plugs on the handlebar ends just fine.
What I strongly recommend for anybody doing this job is that instead of buying the clutch cable and brake lines before they start, is simply get the bars installed, and THEN figure out what you're gonna need. Yes, this method takes a few more days...or a week...but takes the guesswork out of it. This project, in my opinion, is best done before the prime of the riding season for that reason. Takes the pressure off!
NAMZ. I bought a complete wire harness extension from them for my 2008 road glide. You can just plug them in, don't even need to solder...Both side switches and TBW. Didnt end up using them. If youre interested PM me.
