Same thing happened to my 09 UC, and it turned out to be a loose electrical connection behind the air cleaner. Mine also fixed itself but took to dealer and they found the loose connector.

Couple of things you can check.

Check for codes: https://www.fuelmotousa.com/p-29661-...ble-codes.html

Clean and inspect the electrical connector located under the air cleaner, attached to the throttle body, for fretting (look that up, it was a TSB).

Good luck.

Sounds like Limp mode. Check the twist grip sensor and the before mentioned throttle body connector under the air cleaner.
Maybe Vernal or someone will pipe in with the electrical troubleshooting flow charts...

Sounds like limp mode and I had the same experience except I was limping across a busy 4 lane roadway on a green with a bunch of cars behind me.
Pulled over, shut the bike down and cycled the ignition three times and I was able to clear limp mode.
Called the dealership to come get it as there where also 9 historic codes for them to check.
Fortunately I had read something in the owners manual about limp mode couple days before and tried the 3 cycle bit.
worked and got me home.
So, now thats cleared up, do what the others have suggested cause eventually limp mode will appear once again.

Recently began happening to me a few times here and there this summer...getting the 1511 and 2101 codes with limp mode on my 08. For a quick fix, I unplug the plug behind the air cleaner and push/pull it back and forth a couple of times to clean the pins as I plug it back in. Read TT418A for the issue. After this riding season is over, I am going to change the socket pins with the updated pins (72663-11) and add the rubber boot (69200437) found on the later models. That hopefully will be the only thing necessary, if it persists, I’ll have to change the throttle control actuator.

Others with this problem have found a broken wire in the loom at the p-clamp under the gas tank.

08 cvo road king here and had the same issue earlier this summer. Bike would go into limp mode and did that a few times and then nothing. .wouldn't even start. Code was saying the tps correlation error. I had to replace the tps sensors which are on the little cover on the side of your throttle body. Unfortunately harley says they're not serviceable so they don't sell just that part of the tb. Luckily I had my old 50mm on the shelf so l clipped that on one and bikes ran perfect since...well except for my transmission needing a rebuild lol but it worked for me.
