2012 103 clutch slippage
In the install pics for Fuelmoto's AIM / Custom Variable Pressure Clutch, it looks like it could be done... You could always try it and if it doesn't work then just drain the primary fluid and pull the cover.....
I'll scope it out & get back to you guys!
You said you have a PV, so if you really want to know, run a log which includes the RPM, Throttle position, and vehicle speed through a hard pull of all the gears. You should be able to spot any clutch slippage and I bet youll find if it is happening in first gear, it is happening in others.
Just basing this on this thread, but it seems that the OP is seeking Validation for prior choices and current conclusions rather then an actual solution.
Poor choices in the past and a very aggressive riding style have lead to the OPs problems, and now he/she is looking for a cheep way out. (Indicated by not wanting to replace that primary gasket and just go in through the derby cover wait, the OP has never used that term, wasnt the inspection cover never mind, but I wish my bike had an inspection cover so I didnt have to replace the primary gasket when I wanted to check and adjust the manual chain adjuster I put on.)
My personal take on a solution? (take it for what it is worth)
Pull the primary cover off, check the chain and tensioner, check the primary bearing, replace the clutch plates and install the SE spring the OP already has (which you may not like the pull on), and for the way the you ride the bike, add a variable pressure clutch (the AIM or similar) to avoid problems like this and wining about clutch pull in the future.
Until the crank twists???
IMHO.
