I have a 05 electra Glide Classic, 30,000K and I have just put 3rd front motor mount on it. The left pipe vibrates so much it makes the saddle bag rattle. If I push up on the pipe it quiets down. Is there some issue with rubber exhaust pipe mount or is there some other thing to look at???
I would like to get it repaired before Daytona. I appreciate any help with this matter!!!
Firstly , welcome to the forum.
I had a similar problem , well , kinda....
When the bike was new . the one bag was 3/4" higher than the other one.
I adjusted the bags to level and then had a vibration on one side.
The pipe on the vibrating side was set down against the rubber mount quite a bit.
There is a bit of adjustment that can be done just by loosening the clamp at the front of the muffler.
I loosened the clamp , removed the hanger on the muffler , and tapped on the clamp with a rubber hammer while raising the muffler a bit.
I had a friend hold the muffler up against the mount and I tightened the clamp , the muffler was just a bit higher this way.
Now both mufflers were just about the same height (within the mount) as each other and the vibration stopped.
This might work for you as long as the rubber mount is in good shape.
You mention that up is better , so it might work.
YMMV

The rubber bushing under the bags that hold the muffler is a common problem,or so I have been advised. At 20,000 miles I had to replace mine also.No big deal to replace.Just be sure to get the rubber in the right way, look at the old one before you remove.
