Default I'm not too bright, help

I have an "08" ultra classic and I would like to buy chrome wheels for it. It currently has stock wheels. What size are the rims? Does it show it on the tires? Can these be changed to a "wider" rim size? I like the wider tire on the "09". I don't want to do any modifications to accept a wider tire except maybe buy a wider rim. What size can I go to? Should I get a taller rim? Like I said, I'm not too bright when it comes to this stuff but, I have seen a lot of bikes on this site with chrome wheels and I really like them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have see and heard of people putting a 180 tire on the stock rim. I'm not much into bling so I would just have my stock rims chromed so I can maintain the ride quality. There are plenty of aftermarket Co. that sell rims and or kits to add that personal touch that you would like. Look at the bikes on the forum and PM the person that has what you are looking for to get more information about there setup.

+1 on chroming the stock rims. There are some guys on eBay that will do it for 4 and a 1/2. Of course, you'll be without your wheels for awhile. Hence, the reason I haven't done it already. Same guys have outright wheels for sale for around $850. I am thinking about taking this route and then selling my stock rims on eBay using the boxes from the new ones. Just an idea. And, I have no idea regarding reviews of the companies on eBay chroming these wheels. You might want to request some input from fellow forum members before pulling that trigger.

Most wheel vendors can tell you which rims for which year and model.
If they send something that doesn't fit it's on them.

08 has 3.25 " wide rims the widest that will fit stock rim is a 150 rear tire. with 4 " wide rim you can go to 160 without mods anything bigger req. mods to fender output shaft and belt

Look at Chrome Pros Plating on the wheels, they did mine and they have an exchange program also.

correct -- 160 may require modifying or removing the belt guard --- if you do the 160 probably be a good idea to get the 4.25 rim

ChromeProsPlating did my stockers to chrome, and I love em! Both wheels for $550. How you going to beat that? BlueFLHT answered the size thing....
