Re-read the instructions. It doesn't mean to enter your odometer reading. The PIN code you choose will display itself in the odometer spot one digit at a time. I hope this helps. By the way, you haven't mentioned the year of your bike on either of your threads.
The user manual is clear on this, no zero's are possible in the pin.
Can't seem to find it anywhere, but I am as sure as anything that the default PIN is 11111. There is a factory default as I remember this was the first thing I did when I took delivery of the bike.
I also know our dealer uses the manual override function all the time when they want to move bikes around, and 11111 is the easiest number to key in so that makes sense.
I must have got a sheet with that info on when I took delivery, weird that I can't find it
Split the fob cover and pull the battery out and put it back in that fixed my fob when it stopped working last time. I think the first numbers on the compliance plate with any 0 turned to 1 is what Harley use on the security pin.
this might seem dumb, but if you have not had the bike running all winter and are trying to start it now, without it having been on a tender, etc, then the problem might lie in the bikes battery. is it charged well? and i don't know, but with my corvette if i change the battery in the fob, i also gotta marry it to the cars computer. might be the same way with the harley. try charging your bikes battery first. might help.
