Best advice is to buy the manual. You will need it over time anyway if you are a DYI type person.

I found that standing on the bars while hanging from the rafters works best for applying the pressure needed to move the bars. Of course, put the front wheel in a chock before attempting this. But this only works if you are pushing down. What, you ask, if you want to push them forward? Pretty much the same method, but duct tape your ankles to the bars and do some fierce pull-ups, while two of your friends sit on the bike to hold it down.

We applied firm, steady pressure & backed off as soon as there was movement. A few, not so hard pulls & we moved the bars almost an inch. On our bikes, there really wasn't enough space before hitting the inner fairing to move the bar more than an inch.
Running into a wall with a firm grip on the bars will likely move them too!

I know this sounds crazy but I asked my dealer to push my up as well when I brought it home the firist time and they took it in the back and brought it out 3 mins later.... I said that was fast... They said yes all we had to do is push on them... I said oh okay dont they bolt down.. The tech said the new design of the bars are to allow them to be tight but yet still move in case of an accident.. This way of you hit the bars they will move instead of jamming into whatever hits them ... So basically he just pushed them them uo with a little a$$ behind it... I hope this may help and save ya a little time!

You could strap the bike to a tree and then wrap a chain around the bars. Now hook that chain to a Pick-up and just pull the bars forward.....Oh have a couple friends take pictures so someone has proof how STUPID you really ARE!!!!!
