Thanks Cooler and Wolf. I guess I;ll have to go re-read everything (again LOL) to look into that 1" cut on the shock. And I'd like to not have to air it up that much but mine leaks so bad I have to keep airing it up and it's constantly losing air. It's MY fault it leaks, I'm not so good at following instructions and kinda blazed my own trail on this project. The biggest problem I have now is my solenoid is cracked, and leaks like crazy. I'm about to re-do everything and I've decided frightpops press-lock is the direction I'm going to go this time. So, if any newbies to this mod (and it is a GREAT mod) want to know what NOT to do, I'm your man!

frightprop press on fitting are plastic and will eventually fail... better go to a tractor/trailer supply and get metal ones (they have them is both presslock and compression).

After reading about several of you guys that have trouble with leaks I decided to test mine out. It hasnt been touched since my ride sunday. I checked it today and it MIGHT have dropped 1'', MAYBE. Thats close enough to no leak for me!

Finially got this thing installed. A couple questions. I am loosing about 4psi over a 24 hr period and i think its due to the plastic connections at the shocks. Having a hell of a time finding press or compression fittings that work with the 1/8" lines and the gabriel threading. I am heading to a truck supply shop tomorrow. Other question is im taking 500 mile trip on thursday to baker city and not sure if i should with this set up without testing it out. Got no real time before i leave. Mainly i want to know if anyone rubs with the gabriels or monroes (monroes go lower than mine). In particular does anyone with an 08 or later (old style frame) touring bike with the stock 16" rear tire rub with no air. I figure if the air goes out i can always baby it home just dont want to have to buy a new tire and wiring harness to find out. Other than that it sure looks sweet.

4 psi over 24hrs isnt to bad, if you have the compressor i wouldnt worry about it for the trip. you shouldnt rub, drop it down and push it and see.
I was going to add a T with a valve to fill at a gas station incase my compressor quite.

Clark wolfman is right, 4psi isn't much of a leak. It'll be tough to find that one even with dawn and water. The fitting on the shock has an o ring that the 1/8 tube goes through. Remove the o-ring from the shock fitting and slide it over the tubing about 1/2 an inch, then stick the tubing in the shock till it bottoms out, hold it there, then tighten the nut. It doesnt have to be very tight to not leak. Also there should have been a T in the package with the shocks that lets you add air manually

Well I just got back from a 1000 mile trip and everything worked just fine. Everyone was really impressed with the set-up. A couple things I will say. The ride was certainly stiffer than my 11" progressive 412HD shocks. With that said most of the riding was freeway and I really didnt get tons of time to adjust the air for street use. I will still try to get it all dialed in.

The only other issue I have now is that after getting home and leaving the bike in garage for a couple days i finally jumped on it for a quick ride and it will not hold air. It looks like the connection at the compressor is losing air. Its hard to tell exactly where (push fitting, push fitting threading, or compressor threading) because i can't really see it. I can hear it and can see bubbles coming from there, but not exactly sure what is causing it because the compressor is mounted under the battery box. Wouldn't you know it's the only connection point that I didn't double check to make sure it was tightly secured. I should not have assumed the factory installed it tight enough. Live and learn I guess. For now I just put my preogessive shocks back on until I get a few hours to get back under the battery box. Hopefully nothing on the compressor is damaged and the threading just walked itself loose.

That is EXACTLY why I didn't put mine there. I also have shitty luck!

Yeah it would figure. Unfortunately with ABS my options were very limited. At least I know how to get to it easier this time.

When wiring up to the harley lock and unlock switch what color wires are you guys hooking up to? I have 3 wires going into plug. I am going to cut plug off and just wire them that way. I have 2 wires coming from relay just wanted to know what wires to use off switch? Thanks ahead of time.
