Hello I have a 2000 FLHRI with 32k miles. New Bike. Its in shop now getting new front wheel bearing and 30k inspection and Cam Tens Shoe inspection.
I Dont know a whole lot (anything) about pipes cleaners cams etc.
I think I want to do the zippers MM - Delphi Conversion, Cams, Lifters, Cam Plate Upgrade Pipes , breather and Pushrods.
2-1 pipes
andrews 26n or equivelent cam
Trying to find stuff that works together well.
I Care not if my bike does 100+
I want low-midrange power
Any feedback or suggestions is welcomed. Thank you guys.
I think I blew it out with a pressurewasher in a carwash.. Handwash from now on. Lesson Learned. Someone told me the only thing to really watch out for was the spark plugs because the heads can rust. I dont know that I caused it, felt loose and made noise Not the brakes.

20 to 30 years ago Easy Rider had a articular called the car wash monster. My wheel bearings have all most 90K on them. I am getting ready to do a short road tripe in about six months that will last up to a year. I do a lot of long distance riding and prefer to keep my motor stock clear down to the pipes. I like hearing my stereo.
If you need cam chain tensors up grade to the hydraulic kit. The mechanical ones are so expensive now for not a lot more you can up grade to the screaming Eagle kit that all so has the late model oil pump.
I am really not happy with how it pulls looking for more. I do have some aftermarket slipons stock breather anddecel pops. Seems like there is a dead power zone early on. Its not dynod and I dont want to waste money on a dyno as I am going to do stuff to it semi often. Would you suggest something like a COBRAPRO tuner for it? Would I be better off just getting a tuner and stacking the money towards a newer bike? Im guessing I could get 8500 for this thing. Sold my last fatboy for 7k and through another thousand down for this one. Was a nice spent upgrade for me for thosuand bucks.
I was looking at the zipper conversion for FI from MM
If I keep the bike I am definatly putting in a SCREAMING EAGLE CAM PLATE and likely 26n cams from andrews.
Good Pipes and cleaner would be nice to. IS this going to give me anything comparable to a newer bike? Or am I better off just getting a newer bike?

I'll use my bike as an example. THE Weak spot on the 99-06 models is the cam chain tensioners, and as was suggested, you've got about 55 hp.
You've also got the strongest crank shaft assembly Harley ever put into a Twin Cam, ( 99-02.) That makes your bike an excellent candidate for Andrews/S&S Gear Drive cams, ( I like the 26G for touring bikes,) matched to a 95" Big Bore kit which happens to come with higher compression pistons.
A high flow air cleaner with a decent 2 into 1 exhaust and a simple tuner. ( Mine came from the factory with a Stage II download for M&M Injection and has never had a tuner,) gives me 85 hp and 95 ft/lbs of torque. ( About the same power as a new Stage I 110" motor.)
That's about $2,000 in parts plus labor to install. And you can do it as time and budget allows.
My bike has over 100,000 miles on it and delivers 46 mpg. Best HD motor out of 14 that I've owned.
Am I mistaken but I thought the forged crank and timken bearings came in late 2000 I have the early 2000. If I am wrong then I cant wait to through in the 26g. I just thought that came in late 2000.
Came in 99 touring models. I priced the Zipper MM conversion for my 01. At 2600.00, i went with the Cobra FI2000R Auto Tune. Runs good and pulls hard with the mods in my signature and a whole lot less money.
