Harley will not start in neutral

Even if it were in gear, as long as the indicator light is on, the starter should engage (the safety system really doesn`t know if the trans is in neutral, it only knows what the neutral switch tells it).

The neutral light is on, which means the neutral switch is sending power to the indicator lamp, and this signal should also be going to the TSM.

The TSM needs a signal from either the neutral switch or the clutch switch in order to allow the starter solenoid to be energized.

The wire that comes from the Neutral switch has two legs, one leg goes to the indicator, the other leg goes to the TSM, that is where the problem probably is. It may be as simple as a bad connection at the TSM.

Yes, pretty simple. I can imagine the responses if Harleys had a kickstand switch like the metrics use on top of it all.
