PS - Do the sidewall designs match front and rear? I know it isn't super important but I do like the look of matched sidewall patterns.

Yep - the sidewalls match perfectly. They have a nice snakeskin pattern on them.

Part numbers:

Front: Avon Cobra AV71 150/80 R16 71V
Rear: Avon Cobra AV72 180/70 R16 77H

Those are both radials. The "R" (R16) is the clue.

Thanks!

I am happy to hear that. Couldn't see anything on Avon's website to explain that, but now I look closer, there are some "B16" tyres which must be bias ply. Doh!

I got lost in the middle of nowhere today and (not by choice) ended up putting 207 miles on one tank of gas.

I put 3.568 gallons back into a 3.5 gallon tank!

Dang you were on fumes to say the least! Glad you didn't run out of gas out there!

I think the early specs called it a 3.5 gallon tank, but all the current marketing calls it a 3.6 gallon tank. So yes, you were really, really riding the fumes!

I got a new record for mileage; I've found that 2000 RPM seems to be the key to excellent mileage, whatever speed you're going, find the gear that gives you 2000 rpms, and you'll get the best mileage possible. I rode the Natchez Trace Parkway and on the last leg, it was getting dark, no gas stations around, and I had 110 miles to go. The "miles to empty" gauge read about 103. Ain't gonna make it. And it was getting dark, and rainy, so I just locked the cruise control on 55 and set out. Not only did I not run out of gas, but after going 110 miles, the "miles to empty" said I still had 40 miles to go! After I refilled, the miles-to-empty said this:

I've never seen it that high. Based on a 3.6-gallon tank, it's saying that I was getting 62 miles per gallon(!) Long, flat, straight road, no hills, cruise control at 55, I went 110 miles in a row and it seemed like it would run forever.

I may be late to this but have you guys seen the new parts Harley has released for the 2018 and 2019 Fat Bobs? Looks like they made a lot of accent parts for mixing and matching for your own customized look. Some of the parts looks pretty cool but I will leave mine as it is for now and work on performance before looks. Check them out. https://www.harley-davidson.com/shop...category=43505 searchTermScope=-99

The Dominion collection looks pretty tough. I saw them installed on a Fat Bob up in Milwaukee. The primary cover seems huge though. Nice to see they're making parts that extend the same finish that's on the exhaust heat shields so you can balance out the color throughout the bike.
