Have a 21 street glide special , just got the stage one on and since then realized how much more sound I want haha. I was looking at a budget around 1500 that is open to some movement if needed, im looking for a system that when I'm riding down the interstate I can crank up and enjoy and hear a good quality sound come out. I'm no expert by anyways but can figure out how how to install something as long as its not overly complex. Currently just have the factory speakers and none in the bags. Any recommendations is appreciated!
Following, planning same thing of sorts with a budget of say $2500 to $3K for: Fairing speakers and amp along with speakers probably in the bag lids and another amp. I am after LOUD and CLEAN clear sound. Component speakers for sure. I will have the holes available from stock SG mirrors.
I will say that my MMats 4x100 amp and MMats 6.5's in the fairing with BT Leveler were plenty for me on my 2015 SGS..= @ $1100
I added 6x9's in the bags (another $500) and my honest option, it was money wasted... I could not hear the rears at all unless I sat perfectly in the middle of the sound zone :-)
What did you put in the lids and how much power? My old bike has speakers in the lids and they were loud as hell
Polk 6x9's at 100 watts each per above....Mine were loud, but ... its about balance for me... you cant have both easily.. sit a little forward and its fronts, a little to the rear, its the rears... or just blast the hell out of both and yes,,, I had Loud... I take 7-14 day trips, so its more about balance for me than loud,
Polks in lids don't stand a chance of keeping up with MMats in the front. You would need something much more efficient in the lids such as WDX 69Moto's in the same price range.
Definitely want to be able to hear the lids often ride with a passenger as well, and I'd be open to some higher budget options, If there's a noticeable difference I'm definitely open to something better. That is just a start point, I was going to go with the Rockford Fosgate from harley but seems thats more hype than bang for buck so now I'm trying to figure it out. There's just too many options and I don't really know much about it.
