A friend of mine got the fork boots at an off road vehicle store so there is no part number. $6 I think he said they were. I'll get some good pics this weekend.
I still have the rear. It is going to be sold with the wheels and tires unless someone else wants it. Hint hint. A little bird told me my new rims should be in Monday.
Got my new rims in today and got the rear one on but hit a snag on the front one. The tap broke off inside of one of the rotor bolt holes while cleaning it out so I sent it out to a local machine shop to see if they can work some magic on it. So, I have a nice new rear wheel and the stock front. It looks funny to say the least. No pics until they are both on. I have to laugh about this as this is the way most things go for me. By the way my other set of Lyndall rotors sold but I still avhe the stock wheels, rear harley floater and pulley, and tires for sale if anyone wants so fxdxt wheels.
Hopefully the front wheel comes back today, and assuming it does I will finally get some new pics. Looks like shocks are going on order next from Howard at Motorcycle Metal. JRI 14". I am getting an oil pressure gauge as the shop tech insists that my oil pressure is low so I will sort that out next. I guess once the oil pressure gauge goes on I will know more. I am hoping he is imagining things but he might be right.
Once he got the rear wheel on and took it for a test ride he came back and told me he broke the rear tire loose in front of the shop with just a little gas. Had me laughing. And he set off a car alarm at the building next door riding back in. Even better. My rotors are sold to ThunderHorse so they are gone. The wheels, pulley and rear rotor are still available with tires. If you have a 99 as the two people who have already contacted me do the bearings are the proper size 3/4" but the spacers that you have on your bike will be too long as 99 and earlier have Timken bearings in the wheels so if you want to sort this out by getting 2000 and newer spacers be my guest be realize that this will need to be sorted out and will to be a direct bolt on with what you have. 2000-2003 Dyna's direct bolt on for the stock wheels. Stay tuned, it's only 4am here.
Me too! Still waiting on the front wheel to come back. In this situation as all with my bike patience is a virtue. I am thinking I will roll to Conely's on Saturday and have him fix up the leak in my rear cylinder as long as he has time. It is difficult to find someone to work on my bike whom i am comfortable with but him and Ron our shop tech are always welcome to work it on as well as kk6pg. Unfortunately kk6pg is HOG chapter PRez and has very little time lately. Regardless, one of these days I might be close to being done.
I still need to source a matching rear rotor as well as the new rear wheel has the 8 spoke black center with the carbon composite band on it now but that is details. This might just be the only bike you have ever seen with a custom rear wheel and stock front right now.
Oh yeah, Calem, I love the chin guard now. Unless I get an oil cooler that will not fit with that there it stays.
Just when I think I am nearing the end of mods that are needed, there is something else I have forgotten. I wonder how many other things I have forgotten?
