I’ve only noticed that code coming up when I don’t start my bike up for a little bit (when I’m out of town for work) and when it’s cold. I wouldn’t sweat it. When it does that just turn it back off then start it up again and it’ll be fine...you’ll notice the idle will run higher but it’s just gotta warm up.
Every time I have had this happen was when the engine was hot and I went to restart after I either stopped at a gas station or other place for a short period of time. Never had it happen when the motor has cooled down after a long rest. I love that stupid high idle that comes with this condition.
This is exactly my experience. Bought a new battery (many threads out there as to which one is best) AND I now have the battery hooked up to a tender any time I’m not riding it. Have not had a problem since and it’s been several years.
I have been getting this error occasionally after a long ride when I try to restart my bike. I press the starter, it will crank a little and then kick back. After the kickback, I get the V INERR code? on my speedo. Most of the time, if I press the starter again, it just starts right up with no issue. On rarer occasions, it will start but the RPMs with be way up. If I shut the bike down and restart, all goes back to normal...I had the dealer load test my battery and it checked out ok. I have checked all the grounds/cables and they are good. Any ideas????
I changed the panel of my 2018 ultra, as a used panel was placed, the v inerr message appears, if I continue using the bike with this error, can a failure happen?
