If I use Win PV to Get a Tune from my PV (I just want to view one of my tunes, not edit it), will a copy of the tune still remain on the PV unit or does this function remove the tune from the PV? Thanks.
Using get tune from the PV it will simply copy the tune into the WinPv software which you can then view/edit. No changes are made to the tunes in the tune manager until you resend them to the appropriate slot.

Thanks Jamie. I didn't want to want to mess anything up while learning how things work. The PV Win PV software are a lot of fun and both seem very user friendly.
Well, our thread got moved to the Tuner/ECM section, but no sticky. Since SEPST and TTS have their own stickies, I can only assume someone must pay for the honor of being in that section. I guess we can persevere.

My guess is that the thread has to reach a certain # of posts or frequency of posting.

I'll do that. If they don't put it in a sticky I would rather see it back in the Touring section where it'll get much more exposure.

I'll ask them to move it back unless they can put it on parity with the other tuners and give it a position in the sticky section. I guess they need to be paid to make anything a sticky, but given some of the other sticky topics I wonder. I would think a major new tuner would carry more weight here than a thread about a "Cruise Control DTC Chart" that has logged three pages since 2006 with no replies since January.

I was able to play with the PV and WinPV software a little bit yesterday. Pretty cool. I really like the Compare and Delta functions. Really makes it easy to see the differences in tunes. I was always curious what the HD Stage 1 download looked like, now I know. I found it interesting that the Stage 1 download had the Rev limit set at 7000 RPM and my Fuelmoto tune has Rev limit set at 6000 RPM. I can't imagine Reving the Sporty to 7K RPM anyway. I was also surprised that there were very few differences in the A:F ratio between the two tunes. It appears most of the changes are made in the closed-loop bias and timing tables.
We got our sticky in the Tuning section with a new subject line, so we need to thank Terry ("Terry"TheTrollKiller) for helping with that. Hopefully it will remain active and a good platform for sharing ideas and procedures as we learn this new device.
