Anyways, this is the second autotune results.

Best way to compare differences is to load your first autotune file and then load the second as a compare file. Look at the delta file to see the differences. You can read as absolute changes or percent.

When your last two autotunes are within 3-5% your VE's are good.

Log Tuner still can work, (Although officially unsupported) Especially for timing after VE's are dialed in. The workaround/fix is in this thread,
Happy hunting.

Well, if they say it's obsolete then it's obsolete and they need to remove it from the outdated manual.

Question: I want to use basic auto tune based on the canned map that I downloaded from power vision ( SE air and Rush slipons).

On this tune, the Adaptive Control is set on 0. Shouldnt I change it to 1 before I try to auto tune it?

Jack, when you Autotune, the Adaptive Contriol is shut off automatically. When not in Autotune mode, I think it should be on at least it is on mine.

Did you say what year/model/mods your bike is? Also, I suggest you do you do a WinPV update client to get the latest tune software templates.

All that said, I don't trust a lot of the older DJ downloads for older bikes that were sold during the pre-PV days. Can't imagine why AC would be a 0 when it is clearly a feature of the ECM, unless it is a hangover from the old PCIIIusb days. Don't worry, AT will shut it off and turn it back on when not in use.

Here's what happens when you go into Autoune mode.

AutoTune Basic—automatically applies a .pvv to the tune that does the following:

• Sets the base fuel table to 14.6 for AFR based calibrations and .982 for lambda based
calibrations.
• Disables AE/DE/EITMS/PE/Adaptive Control.
• Retards 4 degrees of timing.
• Bias the close loop range to .700mv on AFR based calibrations.

Also, they shouldn't make it obsolete until they come up with a replacement. Which they have not done. Ideally it would be nice to automate the process required to use Log Tuner.

It isn't hard, but it is a tad cumbersome and it begs to be automated.

Apparently not enough development money going into the product set, either for doc writers and/or engineers to do much but try to keep up with new bike releases and some routing bug fixing / code maintenance.

Just my opinion based on a few convos with various folks familiar with company and product.

Thank you hippie, that cleared things out.
Update was the first thing I did on the pv.

BTW, I put the pv on the handlebar and set to to display rpm and temp and voltage but after some riding it stops working. The screen is there but no numbers. Is there a way to have it display those numbers permanently?

The display shouldn't shut off. Check your connections.

What you are experiencing sounds like data "freeze", 99% of the time this is due to RF interference to the PV data cable most commonly from a spark plug wire or a coil. Re-routing the PV cable away from these components will take care of it.

It seems like the better the tune is the quieter the exhaust become?

True?

With a good tune there should be no decel popping, knocking or detonation.
But I don´t think its a general rule that the motor becomes quiet with a good tune.
