Ignition/Tuner/ECM/Fuel InjectionNeed advice on ignition issues? Questions about a tuner? Have questions about a EFI calibration or Fuel Injection? Tips on Engine Diagnostics, how to get codes, and what they mean. Find your answers here.
Yup that is the Dynojet suite, installing the C3 Tuning Software and WinPep8 Data Center will let you load and graph the log files- although it is a bit tricky to set up if you're not familiar with it. I find it marginally useful since you can only assign three signals to any of the charting functions.
Yes- it's a shame to have to say that though. Really, every automotive race EFI tuner has a rather comprehensive set of log review and graphing software, VE optimizers, timing optimizers, etc. For some reason DJ really dropped the ball on providing good data review options. I guess they either want you to use auto-tune or go visit your local Dynojet shop.
I found a product called "MegaLogViewer HD", I think it is like $35, and anotherone called "MyTune", which will both supposedly work with the PV2 csv logs.
not sure MLVHD has updated to be able to use PV-2 files. It was difficult enough to use PV-1 files with it. Had to convert, then convert, then open, blah blah blah. They are kinda slow in getting that thing updated. A very knowledgeable resource for that is a guy called whittlebeast over on HTT. He knows MLV inside and out.
I bought it and got frustrated really quickly with it. Had the same problems with TTS DM3 files with MLVHD. Even though it states it will work fine, I found out that you have to do manual exports and then import..
MyTune works pretty well across the board for TTS, PV, and SEPST files and I really like that app especially with TTS. Just be careful what you're accepting as a change with it. It's not always accurate in it's calculated changes.

I have tried both - trial versions of course- MyTune pretty much does nothing useful, it won't calculate anything
MLVHD loads the logs fine and I can graph anything, but, the trial is limited to the first 400 lines of log data. it seems to work though.
So essentilly what I'm trying to tune out is some 4 and 4.5 knock events in the rear cyl when hitting WOT or heavy roll on from the cruise area. front cyl gets up to 2.5 but that's not too bad. the tune overall runs rather well. So what I make of this is, the "attack time" of the HD ECM is not reacting fast enough to grab the lower advance values from higher Kpa and is briefly using the more advanced spark of the lower Kpa cruise area - and some initial knock is produced. I'm seeing this strictly in the 3k to 4200k range, at 50 kpa and up. so when I grab a handful while cruising in 3rd / 4th I don't want to see excessive knocks in the log. My VE's are plenty rich and my cruise area AFR is presently 13.8, going to low 13's in the medium load range down to 12.8 in the WOT range.
I could take more timing out of the cruise area but that may not be optimal either.
My additional thought was to make use of the "PE Spark" to immediately retard timing 3 degrees on a WOT event- apparently that overrides the ECM spark table instantly. but not enough data online to know how that setting really works, DJ's no help.
It should is not a very strong answer. It does or it does not.
You know saying if I have to explain why.
The MPG adjust changes the calculated mileage in TRIP A and B and instant mileage. It probably changes the miles to empty, but never looked at that. It does use your calculated MPG to tell how far to empty.
Need some help with Decel popping. Some background, my bike is a 2010 SG running a arlen ness Beveled Inverted Air Cleaner with a 2011 stock exhaust with the baffles removed. running a power vision.
I'm struggling to remove the decel popping which happens between 1st and second.
I have a fuel moto map. FM (Jamie) who has been great with help on maps but still have no luck removing the popping. I have checked all the gaskets and have no leaks which I can tell. So I took the last map which FM created and have run 6 auto tunes on it with a little better results. So can anyone take a look at the base map and the last auto tune to see what is changed maybe recommend some changes to help with this problem? https://www.hdforums.com/forum/attac...1&d=1431478185
Thanks guys.
John
Made a few changes to your map that will take care of the shift pop. If you autotune I would suggest you don't accept any changes below 2000 rpms or below 30Kpa.
