DIY Cheap Mods
I scoured ebay for ages searching for some of these overpriced pegs. With my Laughlin trip coming up I really wanted to have some options for me feet. Finally after searching all different kind of words "highway pegs" was the magic combo. Got a used set for $16 and spent about an hour installing them. Next time I ride the twisties we shall see if the brackets taht mount them to the floorboards scrape a lot. The left bracket was quite scraped up under the floorboard already.

These are what I'm looking for, thanks, was wondering how to find them....
The Street Bob, regardless of color or black package, comes with chrome shock bolt covers. Harley sells black covers for $40.
I just sprayed mine with Plasti-Dip this afternoon. They look great and I still have most of the $9 can left for other projects. It took longer to dry than it did to remove and replace the covers.
Here's the before/stock-ish location:

I'm sure you could buy a Slim bracket from the stealer for a non-Slim application, but it wouldn't be cheap - which is what this thread is all about.
On Edit: I can't recommend this mod due to the excessive Vibration in the belt guard.
The offset plate acts like a pendulum & would probably break the belt guard eventually.
I'm switching to a horizontal axle mounted plate bracket from Road 6 Customs.

Nice winter configuration. Got a bud that has two highway pegs, one inward like pictured and another set out the traditional way. He does a lot of long hauls, gives him choices.

To give credit where its due my buddy actually made his like this first so I give him credit for it. Although I would have done the exact same design we think very much alike.
