It is like you call it a "passtime venture" , in a long past this was my profession no CNC or so in that time.

Thumbs up

[QUOTE=jsmith800;18638051 I have a new Pirelli but the Dunlop isn't ready yet.[/QUOTE]

IMO- safety and performance are more important than waiting for that Dunlop to wear out. change that tire! lol - plus you can sell it and get some $$$ back.

BTW if you want to do one more "game changer" mod that will truly blow your mind, make the BO handle/ride 300% better, and actually make it SAFE when hitting the brakes hard- do this:

Read this as well. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...iscovered.html
All modern FXS/FXD bikes benefit HUGE from this upgrade. and it is not hard to do at home with basic hand tools, nor is it expensive (roughly $350 in parts, shipped).

Hi LA, good to see one of your posts again. As one of those who has completed the suspension mods I can attest to their efficacy. I'll toss another mod into that mix if I may; a fork brace. BO forks do flex but its one of those characteristics you don't perceive until the flexing stops. I installed a fork brace by Superbrace, (admittedly after extending my forks by 2"), and the stability of my 2014 BO in turns was markedly, almost alarmingly, improved. The improvement refers to the pre-extension mod ride, not just after the forks were lengthened.

Here's the puppy:

https://superbrace.com/collections/h...nt=13481472198

Here it is on my ride:

They don't give em away but this is one of those mods which does make a noticeable difference in the BO's handling characteristics. You might actually not appreciate the change at first. Flexing forks have a certain "forgiving" feel which your muscle memory will have adapted to. In a few hours, or maybe a day, you will adapt to the less forgiving performance feel of the braced forks and you'll love it. Cornering stability and performance improve quite naturally as a result. The BO will corner like its mounted on a rail, solid and precise.

When I road raced as a kid during the eighties... Fork braces and steering dampers were a must.
Experienced enough tank bitch slaps to realize the difference they make.
Alas, I don’t ride my big twin the way I raced with those 375lb 90+hp wheelie monsters
I always wanted to build a HD toad racer and race it. But $$ was real tight

Yep completely agree- They do make a good diff if you ride hard (like most of us do.. haha). I like the RSD (and similar clones) fork braces for those who like to FTF. Got one going on my "new to me" '92 pro street bobber. For keeping the stock fender it is sometimes hard to find one that looks acceptable. Yours came out nice.

Risky? Why's that? I've had the HD bolt grip gadget thing on my BO for years. Works great. Mine is a Techmount/HD hybrid. I mixed the parts from two different kits together.
