The actual handlebars are 1 1/2 inches but the clamp area was 1.25" the same as the original factory RoadKing Special handlebars so all fitted well.

The first proper ride since fitting my new KST Spearheads, I love them, they are the highest bars that I have ridden with (12”) and took a gamble ordering them but I couldn’t be happier.
when I get back on after a stop I immediately feel back at home!
For anyone who’s interested the castle in the background is Corfe castle in Dorset UK built over 1000 years ago but has seen better days!

Fellas, anyone running the HD HomeLink garage door opener unit on their RKS? Is it truly plug and play like HD advertises? Plug it in to the bike and learn it to the garage door like any other remote opener? Is it that simple? For $270 I'd hope so. With that, where exactly does it plug it? Does it use the Data Link Connector (DLC) diagnostic port? I am currently running a V&H FuelPak 4 on the DLC port...I think. Does the HomeLink use a different port. I haven't had my side covers off in quite a while, and I don't remember seeing a red plug dangling around.

A quick look on the HD site, the HomeLink mentions that a jumper harness is needed if the DLC is in use. For me, the FuelPak is plugged in. So, is that correct? Or is there another port that I'm not seeing?

From the HD site:
Garage Door Opener with HomeLink 41001192 | Harley-Davidson USA
Diagnostic Jumper 69203496 | Harley-Davidson USA

All said and done (shipping and taxes), this would be about a $330 endeavor. I really like the idea of using the flash-to-pass button because I don't have to stop on my sloped driveway, take my glove off, open my garage door phone app, then put glove back on (or in a pocket), and then pull into the garage. Sure, that way works, but if I can remove all those steps, I'd drop the coin if this unit truly works as advertised.

Thoughts?

I have a sloped driveway as well and have given this a ton of thought. I did the Google deep dive and found real hit and miss reviews. I think much of it has to do with how many types of garage door receives there are. Just on Chamberlian I think you will find 3? Different color learn buttons and modes for teaching the remote how to pair. I have a keychain remote like this one. G956EV-P2 | Keychain Garage Door Remote | Chamberlain. It was easy to pair and I have it on the same ring as my ear protection tube on my belt. Depending on the jacket I'm wearing, it can take a moment to dig for it but I can do it one handed with gloves on easily.

Somewhere I read a post a person did where they modded a transmitter like this G956EV-P2 | Keychain Garage Door Remote | Chamberlain by soldering wires to the contact terminals, running them out of a hole drilled in the case to a push button. They had installed the button on one of the side covers and used velcro to attach the transmitter to the inside of the cover. I don't want to drill into my side covers so I've toyed with the idea of putting it up in the nacelle and running the wires up to a push button that I could install in one of the two switch ports that are plugged off on the RKS nacelle. The holes that are plugged are a very standard size, the button for my Custom Dynamic lights popped right in.

I think the HD product looks great but not sure it is 100% and is crazy pricy. I haven't changed the battery in my remote in maybe five plus years? And use it several times a week. I also extended my garage door antenna by attaching some speaker wire to it and running it all the way along the rails to the door itself. Because of my slope both of my cars had to me "just right" for the signal to get to the little antenna hanging from the garage door opener. Since extending the antenna, I can hit the button as I get close to my driveway!
