Was on highway 2 lane roadway doing about 50 or so when i heard a pop sound when I shifted. Was taking it easy as it was early morning and I try to let the bike get up to normal operating temps before raising rpms too much. I always time the bike while it idles on warm up for a minimum of 5 min before I will ride it and at that time the cylinders are hot to the touch. Don't want to develop any leaks. I was about 5-8 miles from home when it happened. I had been hearing a screeching sound on take off for about the last 3-4 k miles. The mechanic couldn't duplicate it when I took it to him nor could I. He doesn't think the screech is associated with the clutch breaking. I have about 10,500 miles on the 124 motor and clutch at the time this happened.
I don't think the stock clutch basket is able to handle 140 hp very long. I'm in the process of getting a whole aftermarket clutch system.

Which model of SE Comp did you install, the newest version?
The one that came out on the 14's, or?
