well an update: I noticed yesterday that I only hear the noise when it gets hot and I start to push my knees away from the engine. Having worked that out a couple of legs in and out scissor movements confirmed that I guess Im hearing the actual engine itself when my legs arent blocking it...
probably nothing to worry about?
You are probably hearing the counterbalancers in the engine whirring away. It's more apparent some times than others. I noticed that it gets a bit less as the parts all wear in together.
If you have stock pipes, you will hear it more as well - louder pipes tend to drown it out!
The rubber pad on the jiffy stand has worn through the black wrinkle finish of my primary cover. Im okay with it because I dont care much about scratches and stuff, but some people really get into keeping their bike looking new. I dont know how you could prevent this wear. Maybe someone here has an idea?
I installed a new clutch today to "widen" the friction zone. I'm kinda weird about having a nice clutch so for me the money was well spent. YMMV of course!
I went to the dealer, and they want the bike for 2-3 days to replace the boot/wire since they have to inspect it for warranty replacement...??? Is this how Harley does service??

I'll be doing the same, in the meantime, when I did the mid control conversion, I also installed the Hayden M6 primary chain tensioner. A much smoother, less clunky shifting transmission now. A night and day improvement. I was surprised.
