Even the local Tractor Supply doesn't have much, at least not in stainless.
I don't know of any Ace's around here, but I'll try looking them up and see where one might be. I do a lot of traveling around the state for work, so there HAS to be one around somewhere.
Thanks for the tip.
Citoriplus:
Next time you're over in Albany, stop into Phillips' Ace Hardware- they're on Central Avenue in Albany, a few miles east of I-87 Exit 2E. I believe they own a few Ace Hardwares around the Capital District, but the Central Ave store is their original location.
Now, I've not been in there in almost a year, but I know it's a large Ace Hardware...if I was home, I'd swing by and give you an idea if you were to hit paydirt, but alas, I'm in the Sandbox until June. But in June, I'll check if you don't make it east!
Also, I believe Ace has (or had, until recently) a distribution center up around Glens Falls, so there are a handful around Capitaland.
vhmike73,
Don't worry about it, you just remember to keep your head down, your butt covered and come home safe.
I found a closer source, its not perfect, but it is closer.
Thank you for your service.

I'm just one of the foolish ones who vuolunteer their time to try to keep things running smoothly.
PS For those of you who don't know, this site is owned by an outfit called Internet Brands (I think that's the right name).
They own/operate a number of 'Brand' specific web sites like this one.

Yes I know my bike is dirty, been a long year and they finally paved my road so hopefully it'll be easier to keep clean now.
Very clever idea, I like it and am going to have to see if I can try it.
I like mine where they are (down at the bottom tree, but I'm not satisfied with the clamps.
You would need to get a slightly longer bolt to replace the one in there now.
I don't think you can use the original because its part of the fork tube clamping 'system'.
Haven't pulled mine apart, yet. But I believe it bottoms out on the tube itself and putting a plate (for the turn signals) under it would be like sticking a large washer in there and it will not be able to touch the tube anymore.

While I think using 35mm Bushmaster cannon shells for pegs is a great idea, I think they may be a bit too big and long for the job.
A 20mm M-61 Vulcan cannon shell or .50 cal. dummy rounds would fit better.
Both are better sized in both diameter and length, with a projectile installed, for pegs than the 35mm would be.
It shouldn't be too hard to drill and tap or drill and epoxy a threaded rod (made from a grade 5 or 8 bolt) into the base of a dummy round to fit the peg mounts fairly easily.
