Just for grins I got a 20mm and a .50cal. dummy out of my pile of junk, I got a small collection of rounds laying around.
Anyway, I took them and used a rubber band to hold them to my pegs to show the relative sizes.
Of the two the 20mm looks better, but the .50 is not quite as long.
I have never seen a 35mm up close so I don't really know how it would work.
But I suspect its a lot bigger/longer than the 20mm and in that case it would be way too big.
Hmmmm, I wonder where I could get my hands on 5 or 6 dummy .50cal. rounds.

Yeah I guess the 35mm would be overkill. The difference between 35mm and and the 20mm is bout the same as the diff between the 20mm and .50. Oh well....it would still be fun to try and do. Maybe if I tried to cut down one side of the round and put it on the swing arm as a cover. I don't know...just trying to think of original things.
Give it a shot, what have you got to loose?
Looking at the pic I put up if you cut the 20mm at the shoulder and shaved down the end of the stock rubber peg. I wonder if you could hammer the case over the rubber?
When I installed my engine guards, there wasn't enough room between the guard and shifter for my boot. I needed a longer shift lever. I looked around and ended up taking a Snap-on 11/16 box end / open end wrench and making a new shifter. I welded a threaded insert in the open end side. I then cut thru the box end and welded a spline in there. after sending it out to be chromed, I ended up with a neat shifter that was just the right length. Oh....I goofed, I guess by the time I paid for the chrome and bought a new wrench it wasn't so cheap!!!! Don
When I decided to go to the open air cleaner I looked for a cover but could not find any I liked. So I decided to make my own. I liked the look of the SE trim ring so I found a air cleaner off a 05 softail on ebay for $10 and cut the center out of it and then put The SE trim ring on. The trick is getting an older air cleaner cover because the inside ring is round and gives a reference to cut to and also covers the metal top on the K&N air filter. It took quite abit of time grinding to make it round. Tell me what you guys think.
Total cost was $23
