Looking to DIY my turn signals from handlebars to front forks. Any ideas on how to get a nice clean looking set up?... I have seen ones done on other bikes, not for a springer front end though. Thanks.
I am not sure if this is in here or not, sorry if it is. I sprayed my chrome turnsignals and headlight on my night train with this stuff http://www.plastidip.com/home_solutions/Plasti_Dip
The good thing about this stuff it is a rubber coating and i can always peel it off to go back to chrome if i want to. all it cost was $12 for the spray can. It took a whole day to remove spray a bunch of coats on the lights let dry and replace. I was real pleased with how close the color was to the black denim of the bike. here are some pics
I like this guy idea of using the caliper pin rubber boots. I plan on this mod for my Fatboy LO as the black books will look good on the Denim Black.

I was doing internal wires and hearted grips this morning, might as well doing my turn signal relocation at the same time. All I need is 5/16-24 bolt x2, car caliper pin rubber boots x2, 5/16-24 nuts x4 and labor, took me 1/2 hour and it turned out to be nice. The good thing is turn signals sit very close to the triple tree covers, nice and clean now.

Okay I've been watching this thread for awhile now, and I need some help. 2011 Deluxe, I ride solo and 2-up a lot (every other day I switch). When I'm solo I want to take the protective sticker off of my rear fender, but I don't want to damage the fender with the 2-up stock setup.
I bought the HD fender bib for solo, but I don't like the look.
Here's my question: Can I poke two holes in the fender bib and use that instead of the protective sticker, to protect my fender when the pillion and luggage rack are installed?
That way, when I'm solo, I don't have the sticker on and I can use some of those auto fasteners to plug the holes.
Do you think the pillion and rack will mount with the fender bib underneath? This would be an easy mod for me, but I don't want to ruin the fender bib I just bought. Thanks!
My passenger is only about 100 lbs and I don't 2-up much, but when I do, I just put the pillion right on top of the bib. Been doing it for about 2 years and it still looks like the day I bought it.
Good question nickel. I'm afraid the answer is that I don't think so. As I said, I don't use the pillion often, but I generally don't attach that rear screw. Not saying it can't be done, but I just haven't tried it myself. And that's probably part of the reason why my bib still looks like new.
