I have an 88 with .520 lift conversion cams from Hogmaster, Forcewinder AC, and Hooker Troublemaker radius pipes. Tuned with a SERT. I pulled 81.43 HP and 89.41 TQ.
That's within a few points of dv8. Do I just have a really good setup? Pretty sure the 21's are .498 lift so cams are reasonably close (didn't look closely at intake and exhaust angles but assume they aren't too radically different). Just thought a 96 with cams and longer exhaust would have pulled numbers much higher than a comparably equipped 88.
No bullshit. I gained 1 hp and 2 tq from the bass tune, from a Harley dealership. I wanted to pull the guy over the counter and smash him. I am planing on heads, intake and a different cam. I will be taking to a well known tuner on the next tune, which is a 3 hour ride away, that is a good excuse, just for a ride.
Stock heads make 95 conversion alone waste of time
I just read an article about stock heads severely limiting power in an 88 to 95 ci conversion. I was thinking about a 95 conversion myself but am postponing it until I can do the heads as well. The article stated that many HD dealers simply are not aware that the stock heads of the 88 dont flow well enough to benefit a 95 inch conversion. If I can dig up the article I will try and post a link to it, or at least where you can read about it.
Ok , here we go. My bike is a 2010 Fatboy with 5000 miles. Got it back last week. I didn't ride it my son did and said it was a handful. I had the SE 255 cams, D&D Fatcat with the competition baffle, SE air cleaner, SE race tuner and Dyno tuned. I think they are some good numbers. I will post the dyno sheet as soon as i can. It had peek TQ @ 3600rpm and peek HP @ 5600 rpm. How does it match up.? The dyno guy said the Fatcat definitely works and loves what it made on the dyno. Oh more thing, the guys in the parts department came up to me the day i picked it up and said to me...it was making some beautiful noise from the dyno room and complimented me on the high torque numbers....! I will try to get some pics up if it stops snowing here... My numbers are a follows :
HP was 85.34 @ 5600
TQ was 97.88 @ 3600

Now with D&D Lowcat (std baffle) the bike makes 91HP, 97TQ which is up from 86HP & 94TQ but the big change is in the curve - the TQ curve is 15% fatter at 3500rpm, and HP is also stronger. Will post dyno sheet later.
