here, it could be only one. depending on the officer he has the ability to write a few different things. there are 4 options really. a normal ticket, at $176, (3 tickets of any sort in a year and your mandatory insurance policy with the government monopoly provider, goes up)

second is a box 3 (best case imo.) written a ticket, but given the opportunity to fix it and the ticket gets ripped up.

box 2, vehicle requires an inspection at a government certified facility, within 60 days. anything not meeting government criteria must be fixed before passing. this includes any pipes that are louder than stock, moved or aftermarket non-dot signals, brake lights, oil leaks, ect. plus the plate ticket, repairs, and $150 for the inspection.

worst case scenario, box 1. this is typically only used for rolling scrap heaps, but i have seen one given for worn out door bushings. same as box 2, except no 60 days. vehicle gets impounded, towed in, towed out, towed to a shop for the inspection. impound rates are $30 per day, plus tow, starting at about $100. so, box 1: $176 ticket, $150 inspection, MIN $100 tow in, likely 2 days storage to arrange an inspection, $60, tow to shop (tow out starts at $60, $90 for bikes) repairs at shop $?? thats $586, minimum, before you pay for the shop to do work that you could do on your own just fine

that being said, i have been pulled over for a vertical plate, and rode away with just a $176 ticket

a friend of mine got pulled over with a fender eliminator kit on his ninja, everything else stock, got a box 2, and was out about $600 when it was all said and done
Yep, and "down east" where insurance is private, usually a stipulated condition of your coverage is that you operate your vehicle in a "Legal" manner. I'm not a lawyer but I'm guessing an "illegally" mounted plate would not serve your interests well in the aftermath of an accident, particularly if you wound up getting charged for it.

i don't think that an illegally mounted plate would void your insurance, that's a pretty minor thing, I think you could argue that the two situations are completely unrelated.

that happens here, if you are drunk and get into an accident, ICBC (Insurance corporation of british columbia) has the ability to void your policy, because your impairment likely caused the accident, when this happens, because your insurance company argues with the other party's insurance company as to who's at fault, and if it goes to court, they argue in court with lawyers about this, if ICBC voids your insurance, you're left to be told you're at fault, and if you don't agree, you have to go after ICBC in court, filing your own paperwork, paying for your own lawyer ect...

shittiest thing about this, if you are driving a 50,000 truck, and yours, and the other vehicle off (lets say a 40,000$ one) you're n the hook for 90,000, and your insurance isn't going to cover it! this, of course, is if there are no injuries!

When I took a look at the Pro Street the other day at my dealership I found that especially the chin spoiler is very bulky, e.g. compared to the one from Thunderbike. Plus due to it's open front and inner shape etc. it's very likely to collect loads of dirt...

I agree with EagleRay, standard HD chin spoiler for softail models is way smaller and cleaner and allows air flow to voltage regulator...that's why I installed it...

I was just looking at a black S this weekend at the Palm Springs HD dealer. the chin spoiler is indeed pretty blocky. jmho... I do want the hew air filter element, nicer looking than the round cage on my present one. the base mount at TB for the new air filter is gigantic though. what's up with that? the upper fairing is not bad looking either. I just can't get over that small front wheel.. ;p

Default Bob dron fairing

Need some help with this. Is there anyone running one of these bob dron fairing on a breakout. Love the open bike but I need a little wind protection. Don't really want a big batwing fairing. Thanks.

You realize those come unfinished, right? The cost of painting one to match your Breakout is likely to be fairly huge.
