Does anyone have a decent ammount of miles on their 120r, I lunched my 2008 96cu on my ultra with only 75000 miles and am having a 120r put in, should have it back this week, I am hoping to get many more miles, I needto know what I should look for to keep it alive, at least for 125K miles before anything major, or it that a pipe dream

I just put another 6800 miles on mine during a three week road trip, no issues at all. Heat wasn't bad and not having to shift down to 5th gear while fully loaded up in the mountains was great! Ear plugs were a must, that was the only issue we ran into.
After 7500 miles looks like I have a oil leak on my rear cylinder. Could be a head gasket, cylinder gasket and at worse a piston ring. I'll be taking the cylinder apart after the holidays. Looks like a have a winter project after all.
My riding style has been above average and on the hard side. But I think the problem is because of high heat when I get stuck in traffic and the bike over heats. Can't wait to find out whats going on. Will keep you all up to date.
Get one of these fans marketed by Jim's USA. They really work. I have been in traffic on a hot day numerous times and the temp never gets above 265 degrees. How do I know the temperature? I have a PowerVision on the bike that can display anything that the ECM puts out and "ET" (engine temp) is one of the outputs. The Force Flow fan comes in black (shown), silver or polished aluminum.
Dakota Digital markets a Cylinder Head Temp gage but I have never seen one other than on their web site.
I have been working on a 120 build, so far SE cases, S&S 120 crank, SE 4.060 cyls and 10.5 pistons with SE 110 heads. Not sure on the cam yet but maybe an S&S 585. Gonna keep stock TB and injectors and tune for lower end torque. The 120 r package is way impressive from all standpoints, I am just gonna work out a reduced version.
Been geeking on the 120R! Bumping this thread cause I want to hear the latest...
Thanks.
The reality is there hasn't been much mention of them on HDF of late. Suggests they are all out ridin! Take a look in the Tech Engine section, as there are some good 120R threads in there, but again not recently. An alternative now available is a 124" S&S, which can be had in high and slightly less high CR versions (sort of Sport and Touring versions!).
No issues to report, just upgraded from a dual set up to the D&D Boarzilla but everything is still going great with mine. Since they've been out for a while and not a lot of issue have been reported there's no real reason to keep updating. Especially when there are a few cheaper options out there that are putting down close to or more power than the 120r! 124's 117's..........
